The Love of Hard Questions Seminar is designed for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, where up to half the time is devoted to answering questions from the audience.

The most frequently requested topics include:

1. Islam.
2. Creation and evolution.
3. Homosexuality, the church and public policy.
4. Neo-pagan or new-age religion and its challenge to the church.
5. Feminism, the church and public policy.
6. Predestination and choice.
7. Abortion, the church and public policy.
8. Spiritual warfare, witchcraft and politics.
9. Prayer and the public schools.
10. Race and class.

The seminars usually address two or three topics, and are posed in the form of provocative questions, where skeptics will feel as welcome as Christians. Some examples include:

"The Bible and the Qur'an Side by Side."

"Many feminists ask: Is the God of the Bible a male chauvinist?"

"Is same-sex marriage good for the nation?"

"Do predestination and choice go together?"

"What are the days of creation, and what is the best way to address the theory of macroevolution?"

"Can anything good be said about human abortion?"

Topics and questions are chosen according to the priority of the local church, and may be honed in a variety of possibilities.

The Only Genesis Seminar covers the content of Volume 1 of First the Gospel, Then Politics..., and can be taught in a succinct 1-3 hour format; or in a full 12-hour format. It is also the same as the first of the eight TEI Classes (click here):

  • The all-defining doctrines of creation, sin and redemption.

  • The four all-defining subjects of God, life, choice and sex.

  • The ten positive assumptions of Genesis 1-2: Only Genesis has a positive view of God's nature, communication, human nature, human freedom, hard questions, human sexuality, science and the scientific method, verifiable history, covenantal law, and unalienable rights and the First Amendment.

  • The six pillars of biblical power: the power to give, the power to live in the light, the power of informed choice, the power to love hard questions, the power to love enemies, the power to forgive.

This seminar can also be expanded to cover Volume 2 and 3 of First the Gospel, Then Politics..., addressing cultural issues and spiritual warfare.
